I live in Scotland. My mum and i both voted Scottish Socialist Party. Although it was a tough decision between them and the Scottish Green Party.

RE: Euro election
Finding out that the BNP gained two seats gave me a horribly cold shiver running down my spine.

Britain has the embarrasment and shame of sending not just one, but two fascists to the European Parliament as representatives of that country's people. This coincides with other victories of the far right, such as those of anti-gypsy parties in Eastern Europe. We must keep in mind that these are minor, if disturbing, victories and hope that this does not set a trend.

I feel it prudent to mention that i support Unite Against Fascism's protest against the BNP. However, i also support the freedom of speech and believe that Nick Griffin has a right to air his views and be a part of the electoral process. I take the view of Voltaire in this matter.

I wonder how many British Nazi Party members would do the same for a communist?

This is disturbing and I keep looking to the global recession as reasons why the misinformed are ready to vote for these far right parties.

Not that many I think. The BNP are trying to portray themselves differently of late. With the whole British jobs for British people campaign and we wouldn't do what the government do slogans. If they ever got into power I'm pretty sure the country would slide into dictatorship under Nick Griffin.

RE: Euro election
Realistically, I can't see the BNP getting into power through the first past the post system.

They were able to get seats in Europe because it's proportional representation.

I wouldn't be at all surprised. This is the way that fascist nations turn out. It needs a strong all-encompassing Government. And just imagine the outrage of the people actually being allowed to choose!

Unfortunately, Britain has first past the post at the cost of loss of democracy.

RE: Euro election
All people certain to vote, Labour can count on just 16 per cent support, just ahead of the Liberal Democrats on 15 per cent and less than Nigel Farage’s anti-EU party, which stands on 18 per cent.
The Conservatives are set to remain the largest British party in the European parliament with 26 per cent of the vote.
Its really gives effect in elections.

If you don't vote then it will done by wrong person to wrong leader.
Selecting right leader for our country is very necessary.
He or she can only run country properly. So each person must go for voting
